Algebraic Tools for the Overlapping Tile Product

چکیده
Overlapping tile automata and the associated notion of recognizability by means of (adequate) premorphisms in finite ordered monoids have recently been defined for coping with the collapse of classical recognizability in inverse monoids. In this paper, we investigate more in depth the associated algebraic tools that allows for a better understanding of the underlying mathematical theory. In particular, addressing the surprisingly difficult problem of language product and star, we eventually found some deep links with classical notions of inverse semigroup theory such as the notion of restricted product.

Overlapping Tile Automata
Premorphisms are monotonic mappings between partially ordered monoids where the morphism condition φ(xy) = φ(x)φ(y) is relaxed into the condition φ(xy) ≤ φ(x)φ(y). Their use in place of morphisms has recently been advocated in situations where classical algebraic recognizability collapses. With languages of overlapping tiles, an extension of classical recognizability by morphisms, called quasi-...
متن کاملAn Internet-based Bidding and Procurement System for the Tile Industry’s Supply Chain
This paper describes intermediate results of the European project e.bip (IST-1999-10710), which aims to innovate the bidding and procurement processes of tile layers by establishing a new broker service in the supply chain of the tile industry. The paper outlines the concept and functionality of the overall e.bip system, i.e., of the “Master Broker System” (a web-based information broker) and t...
متن کاملManaging Mechanisms for Collaborative New-Product Development in the Ceramic Tile Design Chain
This paper focuses on improving the management of New-Product Development (NPD) processes within the particular context of a cluster of enterprises that cooperate through a network of intraand inter-firm relations. Ceramic tile design chains have certain singularities that condition the NPD process, such as the lack of a strong hierarchy, fashion pressure or the existence of different origins f...
متن کاملSIM Science Operations
This paper describes the science scheduling and operation of the Space Interferometry Mission (SIM) as a science instrument. The SIM Science Team has defined a set of science programs to be observed with SIM. The scheduling and operation of SIM, and modeling of the expected performance, differs significantly from other astrometric or imaging space-based telescopes. A timeline of observations is...
متن کاملOverlapping Schwarz methods in H(curl) on polyhedral domains
We consider domain decomposition preconditioners for the linear algebraic equations which result from finite element discretization of problems involving the bilinear form α(·, ·) + (curl ·, curl ·) defined on a polyhedral domain Ω. Here (·, ·) denotes the inner product in (L(Ω)) and α is a positive number. We use Nedelec’s curl-conforming finite elements to discretize the problem. Both additiv...
